As datas em inglês (dates in English) podem ser apresentadas de diferentes formas, de acordo com a variante desejada (americana ou britânica).

Os formatos de data utilizados no inglês americano e no inglês britânico são diferentes. Confira abaixo:

Como se escreve por extenso: 15th March 1982.Como se fala: The fifteenth of March, nineteen eighty-two.
O inglês britânico segue um formato que se assemelha ao utilizado no português.
Escrever as datas por extenso
Para colocar as datas por extenso, é preciso ter em conta que o dia é sempre expresso em números ordinais, independentemente da variante na qual a data é escrita.

Representação do mês na data
Outra informação importante em relação a datas é que, em inglês, o mês sempre é escrito com inicial maiúscula, independentemente do seu posicionamento na frase.
Em outras palavras, mesmo que o mês apareça no meio da frase, a inicial deve ser maiúscula.
Sendo assim, as grafias dos meses do ano são:
- January (janeiro)
- February (fevereiro)
- March (março)
- April (abril)
- May (maio)
- June (junho)
- July (julho)
- August (agosto)
- September (setembro)
- October (outubro)
- November (novembro)
- December (dezembro)

Não há diferenças na representação gráfica do ano nas datas em inglês.

- “What day is your birthday?” “It’s on March 15th.” (“Que dia é seu aniversário?” “É dia 15 de março.”)

IMPORTANTE
Observe que para responder informando a data completa de alguma coisa, devemos usar a preposição on.
No entanto, se usarmos apenas mês e/ou ano, a preposição usada é in.
Exemplos:
- I will travel in March. (Vou viajar em março.)
- We will move in 2019. (Vamos nos mudar em 2009.)
- Our trip will be in April, 2020. (Nossa viagem será em abril de 2020.)
